HEAVEN’S VERY SPECIAL CHILD

•August 4, 2007 • Leave a Comment

A meeting was held, quite far from Earth!

It’s time again, for another birth.

Said the Angels, to the Lord above,

This special child will need much love.

His progress may be very slow,

Accomplishments he may not show.

And he’ll require extra care

From the folks he meets down there.

He may not run or laugh or play,

His thoughts may seem, quite far away,

In many ways he won’t adapt,

And he’ll be known as handicapped

.So let’s be careful where he’s sent

,We want his life to be content.

Please Lord, find the parents who

Will do a special job for you.

They will not realize right away

The leading role they’re asked to play,

But with this child sent from above

Comes stronger faith and richer love.

And soon they’ll know the privilege given

In caring for their gift from Heaven.

Their precious charge, so meek and mild,

Is HEAVEN’S VERY SPECIAL CHILD.

My Crazy Life!

•June 19, 2007 • Leave a Comment

I turned 27 on May 30. The night before my Birthday I broke my toe!! So the morning of my Birthday I was at my doctor having an xray done. Then a couple of days later I got an infection in my eye from my contacts. We left for our family vacation Saturday, June 2. On the way to Florida we had to stop several times because my daughter Hannah was car sick. Traffic was terrible in GA. What should of taken us 9 hours took to get there took us 13 hours instead!! Then the night we arrived at the beach house my eye was starting to get worse. I went to the ER, waited in the exam room for over two hours. The doctor scraped my eye with a needle!! I later found out that I have a Corneal Abrasion. I have to put drops in my eye every four hours and I also have to wear sunglasses because my eyes are so sensitive right now.

I think I’ll have to plan another vacation soon so I can relax!  :)

Bomb Threat at school

•March 14, 2007 • Leave a Comment

Today started off like every other day for me. That is until I went to pick up Hannah at school around 1:30. When I arrived at the school I saw several fire trucks, police cars, and several cops walking the school grounds. I had to park next door at a church. Since the school entrance was being blocked by police cars. I had no idea what was going on. Then I saw policemen putting up yellow caution tape around the school property. I guess that is what that yellow stuff is called! After a minute or so I was told that there had been a bomb threat at the middle school next to the elementary school and that no one could leave or enter the schools. I waited for 3 hours! I’m so thankful it was just a threat and that no-one was hurt!!!!
Hannah had no idea what as going on. When I was finally able to pick her up she said “Mommy you are really late” lol I asked her what they did today and she said they had a fire drill and that was about it.

I know it was just a threat. But I believe GOD was watching over Hannah and the rest of the kids and staff today!

Gentleness

I was reading this morning about a mom who is studying to be more gentle.
I thought to myself yes, a mother should be gentle and the strongest ever because it often takes strength to be gentle.

Stressful Week!

•December 26, 2006 • Leave a Comment

Well…this week has been a very stressful one for me.

Have you ever been out in public and you see and hear someone’s kids screaming and making a big scene? Well that was my kids this week. I was in Walgreens and Nicholas was screaming to the top of his lungs. Celie was running all over the store. Brent was trying to get Celie to stop running. Celie then thinks Brent is chasing her. So she is screaming and laughing very LOUD! Hannah is crying because Celie has eaten her chapstick. Then when I get to the checkout some of my money is missing. (I never did find the rest of my money!) There is a long line of customers behind me. People are looking and getting upset because it is taking me so long. By the time I get out of that store I’m so stressed I can’t even talk to my kids!!! All I wanted to do is cry and I did! :(

This was Monday! I’m to tired to write about the rest of the week right now.

Let It Go

Let it go for 2006 (by T.D. Jakes)

There are people who can walk away from you. And hear me when I tell you this! When people can walk away from you: let them walk. I don’t want you to try to talk another person into staying with you, loving you, calling you, caring about you, coming to see you, staying attached to you. I mean hang up the phone. When people can walk away from you let them walk. Your destiny is never tied to anybody that left. People leave you because they are not joined to you. And if they are not joined to you, you can’t make them stay. LET THEM GO!And it doesn’t mean that they are a bad person it just means that their part in the story is over. And you’ve got to know when people’s part in your story is over so that you don’t keep trying to raise the dead. You’ve got to know when it’s dead. You’ve got to know when it’s over. Let me tell you something. I’ve got the gift of goodbye. It’s the tenth spiritual gift, I believe in goodbye. It’s not that I’m hateful, it’s that I’m faithful, and I know whatever God means for me to have He’ll give it to me. And if it takes too much sweat I don’t need it. Stop begging people to stay. LET THEM GO!If you are holding on to something that doesn’t belong to you and was never intended for your life, then you need to…LET THEM GO!If you are holding on to past hurts and pains…LET THEM GO!If someone can’t treat you right, love you back, and see your worth…LET THEM GO!If someone has angered you…LET THEM GO!If you are holding on to some thoughts of evil and revenge…LET THEM GO!If you are involved in a wrong relationship or addiction…LET THEM GO!If you are holding on to a job that no longer meets your needs or talents…LET THEM GO!If you have a bad attitude…LET THEM GO!If you keep judging others to make yourself feel better…LET THEM GO!If you are struggling with the healing of a broken relationship……. LET THEM GO!If you keep trying to help someone who won’t even try to help themselves…LET THEM GO!If you’re feeling depressed and stressed…LET THEM GO!Get Right or Get Left, think about it, and then…LET THEM GO!

Halloween

•October 9, 2006 • Leave a Comment

When you think of Halloween, what comes to mind? For a lot of people, Halloween has become synonymous with candy, costumes, scary stuff, witches, ghosts and pumpkins. But do you know the Christian connection to the holiday?
The true origins of Halloween lie with the ancient Celtic tribes who lived in Ireland, Scotland, Wales and Brittany. For the Celts, November 1 marked the beginning of a new year and the coming of winter. The night before the new year, they celebrated the festival of Samhain, Lord of the Dead. During this festival, Celts believed the souls of the dead—including ghosts, goblins and witches—returned to mingle with the living. In order to scare away the evil spirits, people would wear masks and light bonfires. The night before became known as All Hallow’s Eve or “holy evening.” Eventually the name was shortened to the current Halloween.

I just started homeschooling my oldest son Brent this past August. Brent is in the second grade this year. So far so good. :) PRAISE THE LORD!
I’m always online looking up different things about homeschooling. I like to get different ideas that others do to homeschool their kids. I’ll probably always do this! Since I am very new to homeschooling I stressed my self out trying to pick a curriculum for my son. I ended up going with Alpha Omega Lifepacs. I like it alright. I’ll probably go with something else for next year. I’ve already started searching for other curriculum to use.
